Kings book Broome basketball grand final berth after qualifying final domination

The King’s remain undefeated after the first round of finals for the Broome Basketball Association’s wet season competition, taking down their opponents and claiming their ticket to the grand final.
In the men’s A grade division qualifying final, the Kings defeated the Gantheaume Pointers.
The two sides were evenly matched on the scoreboard during the opening minutes of the first half but the Pointers quickly lost their footing as the match marched towards the half-time break.

Jarman Cox scored a two pointer for the Kings within the last minute of the first half to take the Kings to 34 points, doubling the Pointers score of 17.
The dominant display from Cox didn’t stop there as the attacker went on to score 21 points as the top scorer for the Kings while the Pointers’ top scorer, Taj Pirrottina, collected 11 points.
The Kings dominated the second half to come away with the win, 63 to 37.
The win books the Kings a ticket to the grand final on December 6 with the dominant team remaining undefeated for the entire season so far.
The Pointers will go on to clash with Odash on November 29 in the preliminary final with the winner going on to the grand final match with the Kings.

In the elimination final Odash squashed the Bad Boys’ finals dreams, 50 to 29.
Jasper John was the top scorer for Odash collecting 14 points while Chris Hunter was the top scorer for the Bad Boys on nine points.
The Bad Boys now drop out of the competition with Odash going on to the preliminary final clash with the Gantheaume Pointers.
In the men’s social division qualifying final, the Misfits collected their ticket to the grand final after taking down the Spoonbills, 33 to 22.
Brennan Stack was a powerhouse for the Misfits, shooting 23 points while Robbie Haymes-Holder was the top scorer for the Spoonbills on seven points.
The Spoonbills now go on to face the Bumblebees in the preliminary final with the winner set to take on the Misfits in the grand final on December 6.
The Bumblebees just scraped through to the preliminary final after defeating the Gators by just six points, 65 to 59.
It was a close elimination final match with the two teams racking up a monstrous amount of points.
The Bumblebees’ Kurt Bello scored 25 points while fellow shooter Shaun Nelson was no slouch either collecting 20 points.
Meanwhile Brett Nairn scored 23 points for the Gators while teammate Daniel Aspey contributed 15 points.
The Gators now drop out of the competition.
In the women’s semifinals the Raiders defeated the Dribblers 51 to 32.
Simone Narkle once again dominated the court with her performance, collecting 20 points as the Raiders top scorer while the top scorer for the Dribblers, Jessica Richardson, also had a spectacular game collecting 18 points.
The Slammers defeated the Sharks in a close match up, 23 to 17.
Brianna Mowatt was the top scorer for the Slammers on nine points while Claire Lynch was the top scorer for the Sharks on seven points.
