An exciting blend of music, comedy, theatre and fine arts is set to ring in the new year for the Broome Civic Centre.

The Kimberley town’s premier venue held its season launch event on February 21, unveiling an action-packed schedule that is set to whet everyone’s appetite for entertainment.

After the sell-out Broome Mardi Gras Cabaret Dinner kicked off the year in events last Friday , patrons will have even more to be excited about.

One of the big names that will be venturing to the Broome Civic Centre is comedy hypnotist Matt Hale, who will be bringing his Feel Good Factory on March 27.

Another big name is award-winning singer Wendy Matthews, who will be performing on April 18 while on an extensive nation-wide tour.

Broome-born circus performer Georgia DeGuara will have a special homecoming on May 29 when she brings YUCK Circus to town off the back of performing at Fringe festivals in Perth, Adelaide and Edinburgh.

A multiple award-winning and well-loved play that inspired a hit film starring Deborah Mailman and Jessica Mauboy will be coming to Broome in late August when the theatre production of The Sapphires comes to town.

Queen fans will be rocked on September 19 when Thomas Crane and his band Bohemian Rhapsody bring the visual excitement and stage energy of the beloved band to the Civic Centre.

Returning favourites include the Over the Fence Comedy Film Festival, set for March 7, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow on May 13, Worn Art on November 6 and 7, the Kullarri NAIDOC Ball on July 4, and the White Ribbon Gala on November 28.

Other events set for the 2020 season include Bloom Sings Stevie Nicks, Carole King & Linda Ronstadt Songbook, children’s comedian Mr Snotbottom, and indigenous dance sensations Djuki Mala.
