The Waringarri Crows and the Port Wyndham Crocs dominated over the weekend in the East Kimberley Football League, with both teams defeating their opponents by more than 10 goals at Kununurra Oval on Saturday afternoon. The Waringarri Crows destroyed the Warmun Eagles in a 108-point victory. The Eagles didn’t stand a chance, racking up just four goals to the Crows’ 21 by the end of the match, 21.8 (134) to 4.2 (26). Then the Port Wyndham Crocs took down the Bow River Blues in another one-sided match. Bow River tried to fight back but by the time they had scored five goals the Crocs were more than double their score, a lead which they extended over the last half to take home a huge victory, 18.15 (123) to 7.5 (47). But top-of-the-ladder team Ord River Magpies had a close call, just clinching the win from the Kununurra Demons. The Demons held the lead for the first three quarters of the match until Ord River decided to pull out all the stops during the last quarter to kick five goals and secure themselves the uneasy win, 10.5 (65) to 8.9 (57). In the women’s league, the Waringarri Crows also claimed a massive one-sided victory, taking down the Port Wyndham Crocs in a 73-point win. The Crocs failed to get a single goal on the scoreboard, kicking just two behinds for the entire match, while the Crows racked up nine goals and a massive 21 behinds to take home the win, 9.21 (75) to 0.2 (2). The Ord River Magpies dominated the Kununurra Demons, scoring nine goals while the Demons failed to make a single score, 9.14 (68) to 0.0 (0).
