The Hornets have continued to slam-dunk their way to the top, scoring their fifth straight victory last Thursday.

It was expected to be a close match for the Hornets as they went up against reigning premiers the Orl Blaks.

The Hornets were quick to build an early lead while the Orl Blaks were still finding their rhythm.

In the second quarter, the Orl Blaks started to stage a comeback as they worked their way up to match the Hornets’ skill level, leading to a one-point margin between them at half-time.

Several fouls marred the beginning of the third quarter as the two top sides brought the hunger and fire to win.

Despite the fouls, the Hornets continued to extend their lead, although the Orl Blaks were not far behind, leading to an intense final quarter.

Both teams worked hard to try to achieve the win, with the Hornets looking to extend their undefeated streak and the Orl Blaks looked to hand the Hornets their first loss.

After an entertainingly intense final quarter, it was the Hornets who prevailed 53-49. Elsewhere, the Misfits have developed a bit of a winning streak with a third successive victory over the Clippers, the Roosters narrowly defeated the Redbacks and the Gantheaume Pointers managed their first win of the season, defeating the B-Town Ballerz.
