Hall’s Creek product Ash Johnson set to make AFL debut for Collingwood in clash against brother Shane McAdam

Yet another player from the Kimberley, Ashley Johnson, will make his debut on the AFL field this weekend, helping cement the Kimberley’s reputation as a football factory. Johnson will make his debut for the Collingwood Magpies on Saturday afternoon at Adelaide Oval in their match up against the Adelaide Crows where Johnson will go up against his own brother Shane McAdam. Johnson was picked up by Collingwood in the mid season draft last year but was robbed of a chance to play when he injured his finger. The 24-year-old who stands at 6’4” tall comes from a prestigious football family with his brother McAdam and his cousins Jy Farrar, Sam Petrevski-Seton, Toby Bedford and Irving Mosquito also competing in the AFL. Yet another cousin of Johnson’s, Krstel Petrevski, currently plays for the Melbourne Demons in AFLW. With Johnson joining their ranks, seven players who hail from the small remote town of Halls Creek that has a population of just 1500 people are now in the AFL.
