Five Kimberley businesses win Volunteer Employer Recognition Awards
Five Kimberley businesses have walked away from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services Volunteer Employer Recognition Awards with wins, showcasing the regions community spirit.
Alliance Auto Electrics, Horizon Power, Broome Aboriginal driver training program Life Without Barriers, Office National Broome, and Cleanaway Kununurra all received awards for supporting emergency services volunteers.
Emergency Services Minister Paul Papalia thanked volunteers and the businesses.
“VERA celebrates and acknowledges employers who go above and beyond to enable their staff to respond to emergencies during work hours,” he said.
“The Cook Government recognises the employers and organisations who strive to generously contribute to our State’s successful emergency services.
“On behalf of all Western Australians, I thank our dedicated volunteers who donate their time, playing a key role in keeping our communities safe.”
The awards ceremony took place at Perth’s ANZAC Club on November 7.
