The new year is just around the corner and Broome is set to ring in 2019 in style.

Drag Territory’s Vogue MegaQueen will be returning to town after sashaying on to the Broome stage for Mardi Gras earlier in the year.

She will be hosting the Mangrove Hotel’s NYE Party alongside Perth drag queen Feminem, who will be performing a DJ set during the celebrations. MegaQueen said she had such a great time at Broome Mardi Gras that she had to return for New Year’s Eve.

“Sandra and the team at Mangrove Hotel were such great hosts and we stayed in contact and became good friends,” she said.

“I am also excited to be performing with Feminem, whom I have known for more than 10 years.

“Feminem is a great DJ and knows how to read any crowd, so I’m very happy that she will be joining me in Broome for new year’s.”

MegaQueen said everyone can expect an amazing light show, fantastic DJ sets from Feminem and just an overall great vibe for the night.

“I also have a couple of drag numbers in my handbag and I can’t wait to perform and host this event,” she said.

“I have been very busy performing all around the Northern Territory, being booked out almost every weekend for parties, MC hosting, festivals and of course Drag Territory’s cabaret events,” she said.

“2018 has been an amazing year for me and I can’t wait for it all to continue in 2019.”

The Mangrove Hotel will not be the only venue lighting up for New Year’s Eve.

Divers Tavern will be celebrating from 7pm with Perth band Dr Bogus performing and several giveaways, including a $750 door prize.

Local reggae band The Mexicans will ring in the new year with a free show at Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa, and The Roey will have live music at the Sports Bar followed by a Hollywood-themed event at Skylla Lounge.
