Derby fatal crash: 19-year-old granted bail after alleged hit-and-run on Jetty Road

A 19-year-old woman has been granted bail after being charged over an alleged hit-and-run in Derby on Wednesday night which killed a 45-year-old pedestrian.

Montana Xavier appeared before Broome Magistrates Court on December 8 charged with one count of no authority to drive and one count of failing to stop and ensure assistance after an incident occasioning death.

Police say about 8.30pm on December 6, a red Holden Barina hatchback was travelling along Jetty Road in Derby and collided with a 45-year-old pedestrian. The woman died at the scene.

Ms Xavier was granted bail on the condition that she report to Derby Police Station every week.

She is due to appear in Derby Courthouse on December 20.
