Cable Beach remain at the top of the WKFLW ladder after round eight

Cable Beach remain at the top of the WKFLW ladder after taking home another dominant win as teams went head to head at the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre ovals at the weekend. The Looma Eagles booked another dominant win over the Bidyadanga Eagles on Saturday morning. The Emus failed to make a single score until the final term where the Looma Eagles had already well and truly run away with the win, 14.20 (104) to 1.0 (6). Cable Beach also booked themselves a one-sided win over the Peninsula Bombers on Saturday morning. By half-time the Greenbacks had already run away with the match with the Bombers scoring just two goals, 6.2 (38) to 2.0 (12). Cable Beach continued to add to their lead throughout the second half while the Bombers made just one score, handing the Greenbacks an easy win, 9.7 (61) to 3.0 (18). Katherine Dann lead the scoring for the Greenbacks on three goals. It was a much lower scoring match between the Broome Bulls and the Broome Saints on Saturday afternoon. Both teams struggled to get the ball in their forward fifty to make an attempt at goal but the Bulls finally broke through late into the first term, 1.1 (7) to 0.0 (0). The Bulls changed their game plan after the half time break to add another two goals to their score while the Saints only managed one point in the third term, handing the Bulls an easy win, 3.3 (21) to 0.1 (1).
