Cable Beach push Old Girls off top spot, Bulls have another win

Round 11 of the Broome Netball Association division one women’s competition took place on Tuesday evening, with Cable Beach claiming top spot in the league. The night began with a contest between the Broome Bulls and the Djugun Flames, which saw the Bulls storm to a 16-point victory. The opening quarter saw the Bulls charge into the play, with quick hands and strong communication setting them up with the lead. The Flames ignited in the second quarter, bouncing back with strong accuracy in front of goal. In the second half of the game, the pace picked up and the Bulls lifted once again. The score gap continued to widen in favour of the Bulls and the Flames were unable to hold on. As the final whistle blew, the Bulls claimed a 41-25 victory over the Flames. Later on, the two equal top teams on the ladder, the Pearlers Old Girls and Cable Beach, went head to head in a fierce clash. The game was expected to be intense, with both teams primed for the win and bursting into the play. The opening quarter saw a lot of back and forth, with strong passing accuracy from both sides. Cable Beach found their stride and surged into the second quarter, managing to establish their lead before half time. The Pearlers managed to salvage their form in the third quarter, but Cable Beach held onto their lead to secure a 14-point win. The game saw Cable Beach claim victory, defeating the Pearlers Old Girls 48-34. The season ladder now features Cable Beach in top spot on 14 points, while the Pearlers Old Girls have moved to second place on 12 points and the Broome Bulls remain in third place on 10 points. Round 12 will take place on Tuesday evening, starting with a clash between Cable Beach and the Broome Bulls at 6.15pm.
