Broome’s renowned Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa has emerged as a standout winner at the 2024 Australian Hotels Association Accommodation Awards for Excellence, taking home the top regional accommodation award for the third consecutive year.

Nearly 600 guests attended the Penfolds Gala Ball at the Crown Towers in Perth on April 15 to celebrate the finalists and winners of the 30 award categories.

The resort was shortlisted in five categories, including the Chef Award for Sean Kim from Japanese fine-dining restaurant Ikigai, Excellence in Workplace Culture Award and Hotel Restaurant Award for Cichetti.

The resort was the only northwest regional accommodation to win, taking home the Superior Accommodation, Hotel Marketing and WA’s Best Regional Accommodation awards and securing a position in the Hall of Fame.

Cable Beach Club general manager Stuart Kentish said the team was incredibly proud and overwhelmed to receive the three awards.

“Every year, Cable Beach Resort & Spa attracts 31,000 travellers to the Kimberley. As the only resort overlooking Cable Beach, we are honoured to offer world-class, award-winning accommodations, excellent customer service and unique experiences to guests,” Mr Kentish said.

“The recognition of these awards is testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible team, who consistently go above and beyond to ensure our guests enjoy unforgettable experiences.

“We are grateful for the continued support of our valued guests, partners and the broader tourism community and extend our congratulations to all of the finalists and winners.”

AHA (WA) chief executive Bradley Woods said WA’s accommodation industry had never been in a stronger position, with a vast assortment of high-quality accommodation offerings coupled with a solid rebound in leisure and business tourism to WA.

“These awards celebrate the exceptional achievements of WA’s leading accommodation and hotel venues and the dedication of staff who set the standard for excellence in the industry,” Mr Woods said.

“Not only do these awards recognise hotels, they also honour the individuals and teams who strive to create memorable stays for visitors and foster a sense of welcome.

“WA’s accommodation industry plays a key role in the State’s economy and is fundamental in shaping visitor’s perception of the State.”
