Broome Boxing club has produced yet another champion fighter after Solei Arnott-Barker came home with the National Golden Gloves at the weekend. Flying out to Queensland for the bout, the young fighter went up against New South Wales fighter, Elliot Ireland, from Too Sharp Boxing, coming away with the win after three rounds of excellent boxing. Broome Boxing club head coach Conor Gerrard praised Arnott-Barker on the win. “He boxed beautifully and learnt lessons from his previous two fights and set a pace from the very go and he came away with the goods,” he said. Arnott-Barker wasn’t the only Broome boxing talent to showcase their skills on the night with Baden Trunfio and Ash Schaffer also entering the ring in the Golden Gloves bouts. Trunfio went up against Queenslander Ariki Cliffe from Rebels Boxing Club while Schaffer went toe-to-toe with Adam Tavers from Gold Coast Police and Citizens Youth Club. Unfortunately, despite the duo’s impressive skills and history of wins both just missed out on also bringing back the gold to Broome. The boys were in high spirits, according to Gerrard. who said he was “incredibly proud” of all his fighters.
