A Broome taxi driver has faced court this week over the alleged indecent assault of a woman earlier this year. 51-year-old Intesar Haider, who drove for Broome taxi fleet Kimberley With Class, appeared in Broome Magistrates Court on Monday morning and pleaded not guilty to one count of unlawful and indecent assault alleged to have occurred on March 5. According to ABC, the victim was allegedly groped as she was getting into his vehicle. Mr Haider’s bail has been extended and has advised the court of his intention to relocate to Perth this week. He is unauthorized to take customers while the case is ongoing. The matter will go to trial, during which three civilian witnesses are set to provide evidence. Mr Haider will appear in court on September 19 via telephone from Perth to determine a trial date.
