Broome schools exceed NAPLAN result expectations

Broome primary and high schools have exceeded expectations in this years NAPLAN, recording some excellent results. According to the data Broome Primary School recorded results up to one standard deviation above what was expected across its Year 3 cohort, while Broome North PS also recorded similar results for Year 5s. Broome Senior High School’s Year 9 cohort also recorded results one standard deviation above what they were expected to get alongside Cable Beach PS which recorded similar results among its Year 3 students. Broome SHS principal Mat Burt said the NAPLAN outcomes showcase the outstanding achievements of the Broome cluster of schools. “This achievement is a testament to the collaborative efforts of Broome Primary School, Broome North Primary School, Roebuck Primary School, Cable Beach Primary School, and Broome Senior High School, which have been ongoing for several years,” he said. “This accomplishment truly emphasises the core value of a seamless K-12 curriculum for Broome’s families, a principle deeply rooted in the cluster since its inception. “The cohesive strength demonstrated through this collaborative approach beautifully epitomises the essence of providing quality public school education. “Notably, each school within the Broome cluster has surpassed expectations, achieving results that deviate by at least one standard from or above the anticipated performance level in all NAPLAN categories for the year 2023.”
