Broome child pornography-accused Roland Eugene Ruy hit with host of new bestiality charges

A Broome man who had already been charged with bestiality and child pornography offences is facing 13 new charges after police concluded their investigation into his online activities. Roland Eugene Ruy, 66, was arrested in May after Broome detectives and the WA Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team allegedly discovered he had been using social media to have sexual conversations with a person he believed was a 15-year-old girl. Detectives searched his Cable Beach home and found mobile phones and electronic storage devices allegedly containing images and videos of bestiality. Ruy was initially charged with two counts of carnal knowledge of an animal, exposing a person under 16 to indecent material, selling or supplying indecent material and possessing indecent material. Facing court today Ruy was charged with 13 new carnal knowledge of an animal charges. He was remanded in custody and will appear on June 28 in Broome Magistrate’s Court.
