Broome death: Man charged over death of woman hit by car in driveway of D’antoine Street home

A man is due in court in Broome on Friday charged over the death of a woman who was hit by a car on Thursday morning. Police in Broome and officers from the major crash squad have been investigating the death of the woman after she was hit by a car just after midnight on Thursday. Officers confirmed the woman died after being hit by a vehicle in the driveway of a home in D’antoine Street. The woman who died at the scene was in her 30s. A man in his 40s had been helping police with inquiries. On Friday police confirmed the man had since been charged with dangerous driving causing death while under the influence of alcohol. He is due to appear in Broome Magistrates Court on Friday. St John Ambulance confirmed it was called to the scene just before 12.30am but there was nothing paramedics could do for the woman.
