Broome Bullets at the top as Pearlers dominate Cable Beach in round one of Broome Netball Association

The Broome Netball Association’s best teams returned for an epic start to the 2024 season, competing for the top spot on the ladder in round one at the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre. Starting the night of Tuesday, April 23 off for the division one women’s competition, the Djugun Flames went up against Broome Bullets with solid competition after narrowly missing out on the grand final last season. Unfortunately for Djugun Flames, their momentum slipped and Bullets took advantage, leading throughout the game and finishing on a high with a score of 56-29, sending Bullets to the top of the ladder. At 7.45pm, the clash between Cable Beach and Pearlers Old Girls brought up memories of last season and Pearlers went in with determination. Maintaining a consistent scoring streak and defence, Pearlers kept control of the ball and pushed their skill set to their advantage, dominating Cable Beach in an epic comeback. Sitting under Bullets, Pearlers sit at No.2 on the ladder after beating Cable Beach by 12 points, 51-39. Round two of the division one competition will begin on Tuesday, April 30 at 6.15pm between Pearlers Old Girls and Broome Bullets, followed by Cable Beach v Djugun Flames at 7.45pm
