Bishop of Broome Christopher Saunders is calling on the community to show goodwill and support to families in need this Christmas.

Every year, the Bishop’s Christmas Appeal is launched to help disadvantaged people enjoy the festive season.

Last year, organisers were overwhelmed by the public’s generosity and the number of donations received, with more than 160 food hampers delivered to families and individuals.

Bishop Saunders is again calling for donations of dry and tinned food and other non-perishable goods such as cereal, milk, rice, tinned meat, noodles, tinned fruit, baked beans and spaghetti.

Donations can be made at the main supermarkets, Woolworths and Coles, and at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral on Weld Street in the marked boxes.
