Kings’ Williams-Wilson and Cox’s powerful 30-point efforts secure another win

The Kings once again dominated the third round of the Broome Basketball Association’s wet-season competition, with two of their players coming away from the match with a massive 30 points each.

Jarman Cox and Zimmarley Williams-Wilson put in a powerhouse effort on November 1, tying for the top scorer of the match and paving the way for another spectacular Kings win against the Raiders, 106-39.

The Raiders’ top scorer, Brendon Thomas, was no slouch either, collecting 17 points for his side.

Going into round four, the Kings are still sitting pretty at the top of the ladder, while the Raiders now drop to the bottom rung.

In the other A-grade men’s division games at the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre, the Bad Boys defeated the Tigers 56-37, jumping to the third spot on the ladder.

Aaron Sampi was the top scorer for the Tigers, collecting 21 points, while Rhys Hajinoor led the Bad Boys with 16 points. They now sit in third place.

The Gantheaume Pointers clinched a win from Odash, 39-32, propelling them to the second spot on the ladder, while Odash slipped to fourth.

Taj Pirrottina shone for the Gantheaume Pointers, scoring 22 points, while Odash’s Ashley Spowart was the top scorer for his team with 11 points.

In the men’s social division, despite a solid win against the Misfits 45-34, the Gators still sit at the bottom of the ladder.

Kyle D’Antoine led the Gators with 15 points, while Michael Haji-Ali was the top scorer for the Misfits on 11 points, helping his side reach the second rung on the ladder.

In a closely contested match, the Bumblebees edged past the Spoonbills to secure their spot at the top of the ladder, 32-31.

Shaun Nelson for the Bumblebees was the top scorer of the match on 13 points, helping the side into third place, while Troy Douglass was the Spoonbills’ best performer with eight points.

In the women’s division, the Starlets secured a narrow win against the Slammers 23-22.

The Starlets’ Helen Ockerby was the top scorer of the match with 11 points, while Elainah Coffin was the top scorer for the Slammers with nine points.

The Starlets now sit second on the ladder, while the Slammers have dropped to the bottom.

The Raiders dominated the Dribblers in a one-sided clash to secure third place, 37-18.

The Raiders’ Natalia Woods was the top scorer of the match with 19 points, while Tehana Connelly was the top scorer for the Dribblers on seven points.

In the final match of the night, top-of-the-ladder team the Tigers took down the Sharks 40-34, sending them to fourth place.

Leja Pigram’s 16 points were instrumental in the Tigers’ victory, while Tara Hunter led the Sharks with 11 points.
