Jumping castle incident: Two children rushed to hospital after inflatable flies into air in Mount Duneed, Vic

Two children have been taken to hospital after they were flung from an inflatable jumping castle after it flew into the air on Saturday.

It is believed the children were attending a party at a property on Lower Duneed Road in Mount Duneed southwest of Melbourne just before 11am, according to Nine.com.

The two children fell from the jumping castle after an abrupt gust of wind caused the inflatable to fly into the air.

Reports suggest both Advanced Life Support and Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance paramedics attended the scene, and the children were rushed to hospital for treatment.

“Two primary school aged children have been transported to Geelong University Hospital by road ambulance with upper body injuries in a stable condition,” an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.

There were multiple other children on the jumping castle at the time of the incident, who managed to escape injury.

The incident comes almost five years after six children were killed after the jumping castle they were playing on lifted into the air at Hillcrest Primary School in Tasmania.

The children fell from a height of 10 metres in the tragedy.
