Letter to the Editor: American cruise ship passenger G Barnes Clark II on Albany’s marvellous hospitality

I thought it would be interesting to read what you said, and see if me and the wife made any of the pictures that your photographer took since we were on our portside balcony during docking.
I was sad to hit a firm pay wall, but I understand.
My first university degree was in anthropology, so I was excited when I first heard the didgeridoo, and spied the welcome group kitted out in traditional attire.
I spoke briefly with the boy’s adult leader, and we had a very pleasant chat.
Our excursion got cancelled due to our late arrival, so the wife and I hiked into town, then up to the Anzac Centre.
We got a week’s worth of exercise in less than an hour.
Your city and people were absolutely marvellous.
Please convey my sincerest thanks for your hospitality during our all too brief a stay.
G. Barnes Clark II “Barney” Commander, Nurse Corps, US Navy Reserve (ret) Little Rock, Arkansas USA
