Kojonup-raised music duo Old Mervs announce “On a Truck” show at Albany Racing Club and Dunsborough footy oval

After months of playing for crowds across France, Germany and the UK, Kojonup-raised two-piece Old Mervs are set to return to the Great Southern in January for a homecoming shindig. David House and Henry Carrington-Jones announced their On a Truck show on Monday. The surf-rock duo scheduled to headline a talent-packed afternoon festival at Albany Racing Club on January 10, followed by a stint at Dunsborough footy oval on January 24. The young rockers will be joined on the custom-built truck stage in Albany by fellow WA musos Great Gable, Little Guilt and Polly. The line-up will also include a local artist that will be hand-picked by Old Mervs to open each show. The duo hope to use the double-header shows as a way to fundraise for local football clubs. Speaking to the Advertiser from Paris on Wednesday, House and Carrington-Jones said they couldn’t wait to return to the region after their European adventure. “We are so keen to play a big outdoor show for all the crew in WA,” they said. “Summer down in Albany is so fun and a gig at the racecourse is the perfect way to have a beer and see some live music on a nice summer arvo.” Tickets will be on sale for both shows on Thursday.
