Midfielders Bryce Blaszkow and Jayden Scott are the early leaders in the Great Southern Football League coaches’ votes polling, after both started the new season on fire.

Albany’s Blaszkow and Railways’ Scott have been integral in their respective sides starting the season with three consecutive wins.

Voting from the opening three rounds of the GSFL coaches’ player of the year award has been revealed, with both league coaches casting 5-4-3-2-1 votes at the end of each fixture.

Blaszkow and Scott have picked up perfect 10s inside the first month of the season.

In round two, Blaszkow picked up five votes from Sharks coach Roy Addis and North Albany coach Brad Bootsma, while in the same round Scott received top votes from both Railways player-coach Bodhi Stubber and Royals coach Darrell Panizza.

The top of the leaderboard after three rounds is very tight, with six votes separating the top eight players.

Blaszkow and Scott lead with 18 votes, followed by last year’s winner of the award and Kleemann medallist from Railways Ryley Valli (17 votes).

Mt Barker’s Darcy Wallinger (16) has enjoyed a terrific start to the season, and then a trio are next on 13 votes — Albany’s Taj Williams and Bulls pair Daniel Patching and Seb Ballard.

Denmark-Walpole’s Tyler Stone (12) and Albany duo Kane Pinney (11) and Isaac Baum (11) round out the top 10 on the leaderboard.

Valli picked up nine votes in the Tigers’ big win on Anzac Day, and Williams scored a perfect 10 in the Sharks’ opening-round win.

There were three sets of perfect 10s in round two, and Wallinger also collected maximum votes in the Bulls’ win over the Magpies.

Pinney received nine votes in the Sharks’ round-three win over co-tenants the Lions, and Scott picked up another eight votes as the Tigers won again.

Stone’s brilliant seven-goal effort for the Magpies attracted 10 votes, pushing him right up the leaderboard.
