The ground-breaking Range Rover Sport Electric has been revealed and confirmed for Australian showrooms in two model grades, both of which will come with the same electric powertrain as the Range Rover Electric it was developed in parallel with.
Due to arrive here in March 2027, the British-built Range Rover Sport Electric will be priced from $226,518 before on-road costs in entry-level Dynamic HSE form, with the Autobiography priced at $249,518 plus on-roads.
That makes it cheaper than the Range Rover Electric, which is already available to order here for $317,718 plus ORCs, but more expensive than other large electric luxury SUVs including the Audi Q8 e-tron (from $140,090 plus ORCs), Cadillac Lyriq-V ($99,000 plus ORCs), Mercedes-Benz EQE ($136,600 plus ORCs), Polestar 3 ($116,700 plus ORCs), Porsche Cayenne Electric (from $173,600 plus ORCs), and Volvo EX90 ($129,990 plus ORCs).
It will also compete with the yet-to-be-priced new-generation BMW iX5 due in Australia in 2027.

The current Range Rover Sport, sold with mild-hybrid diesel, mild-hybrid petrol and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains, is second only to the iconic Defender in terms of popularity in the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Australia model lineup, having attracted 1034 buyers so far this year (January-August 2026).
The price premium for the 405kW/850Nm electric powertrain, which is accompanied by an 800V ‘MLA-Flex’ electrical architecture and 118.5kWh lithium-ion battery delivering a claimed 609km WLTP driving range, is almost $50,000 compared to the petrol-powered Dynamic HSE.
JLR says the 609km range equates to a ‘real-world’ distance of 535km, while 350kW DC fast-charging will add 220km of range in 10 minutes, and thermal management is said to prolong battery performance.
For reference, the Cayenne Electric has a 653km WLTP range, and the Australian-spec Lyriq-V’s has a 471km WLTP range.
The price premium narrows substantially for the Range Rover Sport Electric Autobiography, which costs only $5000 more than the petrol V8-powered P530 Autobiography ($244,800 plus ORCs), but is still around $43,000 pricier than the diesel Autobiography ($206,800 plus ORCs).
JLR says the Range Rover Sport Electric matches the 390kW/750Nm 4.4-litre V8 P530’s 4.5-second 0-100km/h acceleration time, and ramps up torque 50 per cent faster than the Range Rover Electric.
It’s also claimed to have a 61 per cent stiffer chassis to accommodate the heavier powertrain, which is accompanied by a 73mm lower centre of gravity than plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants.
A unique 22-inch alloy wheel design and active aerodynamic grille shutter aim to maximise battery efficiency, adding a claimed 16km of range.
Naturally, the Rangie Sport Electric comes with all-wheel drive and dynamic air suspension, as well as active roll control, twin-valve dampers and Adaptive Dynamics, which electronically monitors and manages body roll and pitch.
Further Australian details are yet to be confirmed, but the existing Dynamic HSE variant comes with leather seat trim, a sliding panoramic sunroof, 13.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a Meridian 3D surround-sound audio system.
The Autobiography adds digital LED headlights, ‘SV Bespoke leather’ upholstery, and 22-way adjustable, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats with winged front and rear head restraints, among other upgrades.
