Some of WA’s top gin distilleries are coming together for this new craft gin festival created by Variety, the Children’s Charity of WA. Sample gins from Beyond Distilling, Rainfall Distillery and Wild Roads. Visitors will also have the opportunity to sample an exclusive small batch of mango gin by former AFL star and distiller Chris Masten, and distiller Greg Garnish. Visitors will enjoy the variety of gins while snacking on canapes and enjoying a live saxophonist and DJ.

Catch screenings of short and feature-length films as well as talks, in this event which is part of the City of Fremantle’s Truth Telling Program. On the Saturday, author and human rights advocate Thomas Mayo will give a keynote address about what a reconciled Australia could look like in 2050. This will be followed by short film Babanil and feature film Wash My Soul In The River’s Flow. On Sunday, there will be a screening of short film Babakiueria and feature film Genocide In The Wildflower State followed by a panel discussion between Yokai and Bringing Them Home WA Inc.

Hancock Prospecting Australia Day

US musician, writer, visual artist and former frontman of the art rock legends Talking Heads, David Byrne is coming to town. Touring his Who Is The Sky album, his first new music since 2018’s American Utopia, expect to see a legend of the avant-garde present a theatrical concert full of surprises.
