WA’s iconic Fringe World has received a $4.3 million funding boost as part of a $40 million State Budget commitment to the arts.

The money is across three years, from 2029-30.

Creative Industries Minister Simone McGurk said the funding to arts organisations would “help local artists share their stories, music, performance and dance with audiences” across WA.

Nearly $10 million will be shared by the Black Swan State Theatre Company, West Australian Ballet, West Australian Symphony Orchestra, West Australian Opera and Broome-based Marrugeku dance company.

Additional funding of $7.8 million will also be for small-to-medium arts, cultural and creative sector organisations like the Spare Parts Puppet Theatre and Perth Symphony Orchestra.

“We have incredible talent in this State that we want to foster, showcase and retain,” Ms McGurk said.
