Sam Kerr, Kristie Mewis wedding video: Star footballer’s glamorous day revealed in new images at Swan Valley

Newlyweds Sam Kerr and Kristie Mewis have shared new photos and videos from their New Year’s Eve wedding in Western Australia’s Swan Valley, offering fans an intimate look inside their special day.
The London-based couple tied the knot at the idyllic Villa Dionysus, a Mediterranean-style property about 30 minutes from Perth’s CBD, in front of around 120 guests, including fellow Matildas stars and football royalty from around the world.
Kerr wore a sharp black Hugo Boss tuxedo with a matching bow tie and her hair pulled back in her signature low ponytail, while Mewis dazzled in an off-white beaded gown with a corset bodice, sheer skirt and long train.
In one highlight from the ceremony, Kerr was walked down the aisle by her father, Roger, who carried the couple’s seven-month-old son, Jagger, in his arms. Mewis soon followed to join Kerr, where the pair said, “I do”.
Kerr later shared a series of romantic photos to her 1.7 million Instagram followers, including one of the couple kissing with the caption, “wifey.”

Another showed Mewis, wearing a strapless white top and sparkling silver skirt, sitting on Kerr’s shoulders during the post-ceremony celebrations, arms in the air and drink in hand.

The couple’s content creators on the day shared a highlight video from the evening, showing guests dressed in black for the ceremony before the venue transformed into a candlelit reception with white tables, elegant floral arrangements and a dance floor.
As the newlyweds entered, guests waved white napkins above their heads in celebration while saxophonist Tom Greble set the mood for cocktail hour.
Several of Kerr’s Matildas teammates, including Alanna Kennedy, Caitlin Foord, Emily van Egmond, Steph Catley and Mackenzie Arnold, were in attendance.
One fan commented, “this is the royal wedding for football fans”.

Foord shared: “The best day celebrating you two,” with a heart emoji, while Kennedy wrote, “sexy wifeys.”
Chelsea Football Club (Kerr’s club) also sent well wishes, posting: “Congratulations, Sam and Kristie!” followed by a blue heart and teary face emoji.
The couple’s wedding followed a whirlwind few years: Kerr and Mewis were engaged in 2023, welcomed their son Jagger in May 2025, and have since navigated both career highs and off-field challenges.
Kerr was found not guilty earlier this year of racially aggravated harassment of a British police officer, following an incident in London in 2023. She also returned to play for the Matildas in October after a 20-month recovery from an ACL injury, with coach Joe Montemurro describing her as an “amazing role model.”
After celebrating with family and friends, including a stay at Perth’s Crown Towers before the big day, the newlyweds have now returned to London, where Kerr will rejoin Chelsea ahead of their January 11 match against West Ham.
It’s expected the pair will honeymoon later this year, with Mewis previously saying they plan to attend the 2026 Men’s FIFA World Cup in North America before taking a romantic trip together.
