When the first set were snapped up, fans and collectors alike were left uttering “oh biscuits”.
But now, Australia’s favourite dog family are being immortalised in coin form for the second time – for real life.
Australia Post has today launched a brand new collection of Bluey-themed $2 coins – or “dollarbucks” as the precocious Bluey Heeler would call them.

It is the second time the family have found their way into currency, after a highly sought-after set of $1 and $2 coins were minted two years ago.
Available from May 6, seven new designs have been produced, inspired by some of the show’s most popular episodes.
Among those selected are the tear-jerking Baby Race – in which mum Chilli learns an important lesson about parenting – and the unforgettably hilarious Granny Mobile.
Eagle-eyed collectors will also be looking out for a limited edition colour coin based around the Sleepytime episode, which shows Bluey’s younger sister Bingo hatching out of the Earth, a memorable dream sequence in the scene.

The coins themselves will not be circulated, however, may be given out in change for cash purchases at selected post offices.

Josh Bannister, executive general manager for retail, brand and marketing at Australia Post, said: “Bluey is loved by families across Australia and the world, and these first ever $2 coins are a fun way for fans to connect with the characters they love.

“Don’t forget to check your change either, as Bluey and Bingo $2 coloured coins are popping up in till change when making a cash transaction at participating post offices.”
Sharon Wilson, director of brands and licensing at BBC Studios, said: “The Bluey Dollarbuck collection is a playful nod to Aussie culture, made even more special through our partnership with Australia Post.
“Bluey has become a beloved part of family life and the new range is a delightful way for fans to celebrate their favourite characters and stories.
“We can’t wait for fans of all ages to enjoy them.”
Individual coins cost $20, while a five-coin tube and folder set is on sale at $34 – with a one in 10 chance of including a Sleepytime colour coin.
