Owner of an orange kayak that was found in the ocean off Two Rocks located

The owner of a kayak that was found in the ocean off Two Rocks - which sparked fears someone may be missing - has been found. About 7:40am Saturday crew members on board a bulk carrier reported an orange object in the water about 17 nautical miles west north-west of Two Rocks. Marine Rescue Two Rocks volunteers and Police Air Wing were sent to the location to investigate. When the police helicopter and marine rescue crews arrived on scene they located the orange item in the water, which was a 1.5m kayak. “There was no signs of anyone in distress in the area at the time,” a police spokesman said earlier on Saturday. “Water Police are seeking assistance to identify the owner of the kayak, so they can confirm there is no person missing or in distress, and return the item to its owner.” On Saturday afternoon police said Water Police were now in contact with the owner of the orange kayak and have confirmed no one is in distress or unaccounted for.
