WA’s most expensive house put up for sale as MinRes boss Chris Ellison and wife Tia sell in Mosman Park

WA’s most expensive home, belonging to Mineral Resources boss Chris Ellison and wife Tia, is once again on the market. The luxurious waterfront Mosman Park estate, set across 7565 sqm of prime riverfront land, made history in 2009 when then-owner Angela Bennett sold it for $57.5 million. The selling agent is now seeking offers which are expected to be well in excess of the 2009 price tag, as the pair prepare to downsize to another home. It puts an end to 2019 plans to demolish the home and replace with two new homes. The listed property is described in the sales advert as having an indoor swimming pool pavilion, full-size tennis court, guest house, gate house, boathouse and direct private access to a jetty. A marble staircase and a glass lift connect the three floors of the main residence. Other features include a sauna, gym, chef’s kitchen and walk-in pantry, a cool room and a dumbwaiter to the pool area. There is a separate home on the property with a bedroom, bathroom and media room, and a guest house. That home was due to become a service compound with driveways and landscaping under their 2019 redevelopment plans, but they ended up selling it in 2024. They also paid $6.6 million for a third property in Saunders Street in 2014.
