A popular retail giant is on the hunt for new Aussie workers, with thousands of no experience jobs up for grabs.

Amazon announced a huge recruitment drive last week, with successful applicants only needing one thing — enthusiasm.

The seasonal roles are available in Amazon’s fulfilment centres and logistic sites in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.

Workers will be required to help pick, pack and ship customer orders during the holidays to ensure they arrive on time.

It’s understood the hourly pay for these roles starts at $35.

Amazon Australia’s senior HR manager Michelle Theophilou said the roles are perfect for university students or retirees.

“We’re looking for enthusiastic people who are interested in gaining experience, learning new skills and even kickstarting their career long term at Amazon,” Ms Theophilou said.

“There is no previous experience required as we provide on-the-job training, so whether you’re a university student looking to earn during study break, a retiree eager to stay connected or anyone in between, these seasonal roles offer a rewarding way to earn some money in a positive and safe environment.”

Amazon said the no-experience roles can just be a stepping stone to higher-paying positions.

Amazon associate Dalma Cabrera started off as a seasonal worker in September 2022, before accepting a permanent position as a Learning Ambassador.

“When I started as a seasonal worker, I didn’t know what to expect. Once I got on the inside, I was really impressed by how organised everything was, especially the way people and technology worked together. The training and support I received gave me confidence to grow, and that’s what led to joining the team full time,” Cabrera said.

“I now help train new starters and support them as they begin their journey at Amazon. It’s incredibly rewarding to see people I trained years ago still working here and succeeding in their roles.”

Amazon will hire the bulk of the 3000 workers in New South Wales, with 1900 vacancies set to be filled, followed by Victoria where 600 roles are available, Queensland has 300 and almost 200 workers are needed in WA.
