With his AFL absence about to tick past the 18-month mark, a motivated Willie Rioli has penned his desire to “beat all the odds” as he awaits his penalty verdict.

Friday will mark a year-and-a-half since Rioli last featured at AFL level, with the small forward helping West Coast earn a 2019 elimination final victory before his footy career came to an abrupt halt.

The premiership Eagle has been at the centre of multiple anti-doping investigations after allegedly tampering with a urine sample before also testing positive to cannabis.

Having fronted the AFL’s anti-doping tribunal on December 16, Rioli and the club are expecting a verdict any day now.

As he continues to train and work out in Darwin, the provisionally-suspended Rioli yesterday posted a workout video along with some inspirational song lyrics from rapper Lil Keed’s track ‘She Know’.

"I jumped right in the water, didn’t know how to swim!" he wrote.

"F---ed around and turned to shark.

"This s--t, life, it's made to be hard... I thank god I beat all the odds."

The Instagram video includes a time-lapse clip of the goalsneak running up and down the stairs of TIO Stadium’s Maurice Rioli Stand, named after Willie’s famous uncle.

Eagles chief executive Trevor Nisbett last week said he expected a verdict to be “imminent”.

“Hopefully over the next two weeks at a maximum we’ll have a final outcome where we can tell everyone what it is, and we can get Willie back on some sort of course back to football but also his meaningful life,” he told 6PR.
