Russell Westbrook has set an NBA record with his 182nd triple-double, surpassing the mark set by Oscar Robertson in 1974.

The 32-year-old Westbrook, in his 13th season overall and his first with the Washington Wizards, reached the milestone when he grabbed his 10th rebound with 8:29 left against the Atlanta Hawks.

Despite the record-breaking moment, Westbrook missed a potential game-winning buzzer-beater from 3-point range as the Wizards lost to the Hawks 125-124 in Atlanta.

Westbrook began the night averaging 11.5 assists, tops in the NBA and the only player in double digits.

He ranked sixth in rebounds with 11.6 per game and was averaging 22 points.

And he has recorded a triple-double in each of Washington's past five games, three of them before the start of the fourth quarter.

Westbrook, the 2016-17 MVP and a nine-time All-Star, praised Robertson when he tied the record in Saturday's overtime win at Indiana.

In other games, Stephen Curry scored 36 points, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 14.5 seconds remaining, as the Golden State Warriors upended the Western Conference-leading Utah Jazz 119-116 in San Francisco.

The Warriors (36-33) won not long after their spot in the post-season play-in tournament was secured.

One season after the Warriors finished with the worst record in the NBA, they will play at least one game after the current regular-season ends.

Their play-in spot was clinched after the New Orleans Pelicans lost 115-110 to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies clinched a berth in the Western Conference play-in tournament.

The San Antonio Spurs used the agony of their most humiliating defeat this season as motivation for an uplifting victory, and it couldn't have come at a better time.

DeMar DeRozan had 23 points and Australia's Patty Mills had 20 points as the Spurs set a franchise record for points in the first half while rolling to a 146-125 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

The victory came 10 days after the Spurs blew a 32-point lead at Boston and lost 143-140 in overtime.

Kelan Martin scored a career-high 25 points off the bench to lead the short-handed Indiana Pacers to a 111-102 victory over hosts Cleveland Cavaliers.

Indiana (32-36) moved back into ninth place in the Eastern Conference and a half-game ahead of the Wizards as the teams vie for home court advantage in a potential play-in tournament matchup between them.

The Pacers also moved three games ahead of the idle Chicago Bulls with four games to play as they moved closer to clinching a berth in the play-in round.

Elsewhere, Damian Lillard scored 28 of his 34 points in the second half and finished with nine rebounds and six assists to help the Portland Trail Blazers notch a 140-129 victory over the visiting Houston Rockets.
