VideoFremantle's James Aish got on the end of a great passage of play.

Fremantle young gun Adam Cerra will be sent for scans after being subbed out before quarter time in the clash with Adelaide.

Cerra’s right ankle appeared to twist under the weight of Crow Harry Schoenberg when he was wrapped up in a tackle.

The young midfielder was instantly taken from the ground and into the rooms.

He later re-appeared on the Dockers bench and pulled his team jacket on.

Speaking after the game, coach Justin Longmuir was hopeful Cerra had escaped serious injury.

“With Cerra, it looks like he’s got a pretty low grade ankle sprain,” he said.

“We’ll get him back to Perth and scan it. It looks like it’s a pretty good-case scenario.”

FoxFooty commentator Mark Ricciuto warned Cerra could be facing a stint on the sidelines if the injury was syndesmosis-related.

“Cerra could be in a bit of trouble there, that syndesmosis injury could be a long-term one if that’s what happened,” he said.

“Let’s hope it’s not a bad one. Let’s hope it’s just a little tweak on the outside.”

Cerra had started the game brightly with three disposals but looked in a world of trouble as he limped from the field in the hands of the trainers.

The 21-year-old has been one of the Dockers’ best players to start the season, averaging more than 23 disposals, teaming up with Andy Brayshaw and Caleb Serong.

But he’s also been the subject of plenty of contract speculation, with Carlton looming as a potential shift for the youngster, who is out of contract at the end of 2021.

There’s good news for ruckman Sean Darcy who limped off the field.

He, like Cerra, got his leg caught under his body in a tackle.

But Darcy returned from the rooms and came straight back into the contest.
