Perth weather: Smoke haze from prescribed burns continues for second day

The West Australian
VideoSmoke has covered the Perth metro area for the second day in a row.

Perth has woken up to the smell of smoke for the second day in a row as prescribed burns caused a haze to hang over the city.

The State Government’s Parks and Wildlife Service has issued a smoke alert for the metropolitan area, stretching from the Perth Hills down to Mandurah.

Residents are being told to shut doors, windows and turn off air-conditioners if the smoke is particularly thick in their area.

Main Roads says the smoke is particularly thick on Wanneroo Road between Lacey and Romeo Roads in Carabooda.

People with asthma and pre-existing respiratory or cardiovascular illnesses are advised to follow their treatment plan.
