A 14-year-old boy has tragically died after crashing his bike at a motocross event near Esperance this morning.

The teenager was competing at the Esperance Motorcycle Club motocross event when he crashed on the track just after 9.30am.

St John Ambulance responded to the incident in Myrup, but tragically the boy could not be revived and died at the scene.

Esperance police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
