The only dance school in the East Kimberley has announced 2020 will be its last year, with new horizons for its owners leading them to make the “bittersweet” decision to draw the curtain on their business.

Kununurra’s Addicted to Dance studio directors Amanda Doyle and Kellie Rocke broke the news to students and their families on March 16.

Ms Rocke, her partner and their three children have lived in Kununurra since 2011 and will move back to Perth next year while Ms Doyle will remain in town and pursue a path with her current full-time employer.

They will not only leave a hole in the town, but there will be no classical and modern dance classes for kids or adults in Kununurra if someone new does not take on the business.

The studio also hosts Kanga Training and belly-dance classes run by instructors from outside the school, which would also not be able to continue.
