The Harvey Bulls know percentage could be the deciding factor of whether they earn a home final as the season reaches the pointy end.

The Bulls face Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault on Saturday fresh off losing third place on the ladder after being battered by Donnybrook at the weekend.

Harvey lost 11.8 (74) to no score against the Dons on Sunday and are now in fourth place, trailing Donnybrook on percentage.

Bulls coach Peter Jones said percentage could decide whether his side earns a home final.

“We need to keep a close eye on the percentages, because the next few games are going to do a lot to the ladder positions,” Jones said.

“We would love to try and secure a home final, but we are used to playing games away from Harvey, we have done it for a few years.

“Obviously a home final is something we want, but we won’t be overawed if we need to play an away game.”

The Bulls beat the Lions 6.5 (41) to 1.0 (6) in wet conditions in round seven and have never lost to their arch-rivals — who sit in seventh spot on the ladder.

Jones said it was important to get through the game unscathed, with several players on the list already nursing injuries.

“It is a game for us we need to consolidate and get back,” he said.

“With a reasonably large injury list, we will be looking for some of our mid-tier players to stand up.

“They have been doing their bit throughout the season to get us into the good position we are at, but the challenge for us and for them as individuals is to step up and cover some of the injuries to our better players.”

Bounce down will be at 10.45 am on Saturday.
