Photo shoot for Bunbury women volunteers

Bunbury women who are involved in volunteering have been encouraged to attend an aerial photo shoot for International Women's Day.

Volunteer South West has organised the drone photo shoot for tomorrow to celebrate women in the community ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8.

Training and projects officer Terri Kowal said the group wanted to show women could make a positive difference in the community in what they did.

“I think we’re getting there as far as equality goes, but I think there’s still more to be done,” she said.

Women need to put themselves out there and encourage each other, and we all need to stand together to promote it as a strength for women.

“I think that will encourage other women to join with us and believe in themselves and give things a go and achieve what they want to achieve.”

Ms Kowal said they wanted to have as many women as possible who volunteered within the South West to come along, and any age was welcome.

“It just shows the strength of women in our community and what they can do and celebrate their achievements,” she said.

The theme for 2020’s International Women’s Day is Each for Equal — an equal world is an enabled world.

The picture will be taken at Bunbury Recreation Ground tomorrow at 12.30pm and participants are encouraged to wear their volunteer uniforms.
