A new exhibition featuring photographs by 12 Geraldton residents is now on display outside the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery.

An Ordinary Day explores the familiar and overlooked aspects of life in the Mid West, celebrating the beauty of everyday moments.

Located in the park next to the art gallery, the exhibition will be on display 24/7 until April 24.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the exhibition was a chance to stop and think about the little things in life.

“It’s great to see such diverse and humble actions focused in this exhibition as they can be under-appreciated sometimes,” he said.

“The exhibition is all about the moments that make life great, such as a cup of tea with Nan or an evening stroll at the beach with your loved one.”

The 12 finalists have received a $500 cash prize for their image, while the winner of the people’s choice award will receive $1000.

Inside the gallery, the Mid West Art Prize exhibition is on display until March 30.
