A property developer is suing a former lover who he calls a “sugar baby” over claims she said he was a “scum man” in public WeChat messages.

Melbourne developer Barry Wang launched defamation proceedings against real estate agent Jessie Qin in the County Court of Victoria.

The pair are feuding over the allegedly defamatory messages and are also fighting over luxury skincare and lingerie from Sexyland.

He claims she published articles in Chinese on a WeChat group called ‘Australian Village Gossiper’ and alleges she called him a “rampant sex scammer” and a “scum man” in the lengthy publications.

The developer claims in his writ the documents falsely portrayed him as a scammer, sexual predator, as manipulative and as someone who engaged in “mind games” with women.

Though Mr Wang is not named publicly in the articles, he alleges he can be identified because the posts stated he is a divorcee, a property developer and lives in Melbourne.

The pair met on the “seekingarrangement.com” website and the developer claims he had a “sugar daddy” page while Ms Qin had a “sugar baby” page, according to court documents.

He argued they were in a “casual” relationship while in her defence documents the real estate agent claims they were “monogamous”.

Ms Qin has also said the translation of “scum man” or “scum” meant a person who was “not reliable or trustworthy” and “rampant sex scammer” referred to “philanderer”.

“She admits that she has not apologised but denies she is obliged to do so,” her defence reads.

The woman claims she paid for a pricey SKII facial treatment because the property developer asked her to buy it for him but never received payment.

The duo are expected to face court at a later date.
