This weekend’s annual Jazz in the Jarrah will raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and bushfire recovery.

The free concert is put on every year by the Manjimup Lions.

On Saturday it will feature the Australian Army Band Perth and the Table for Two Trio as entertainment.

Jazz in the Jarrah organisers met with Australian Army Band Perth band Sgt Warrant Officer Class 2 Ray Hingston earlier this month to go over logistics before the big day.

“Doing events like this helps promote the image of the Army and engage with the community,” he said.

The set from the Australian Army Band Perth will include music from the Glenn Miller Band, Michael Buble, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Neil Diamond.

The band on the night will include 20 members, two of them musicians Troy Fleming and Denae Bumford.

In addition to the RFDS, money raised at the event will go to the Australia Lions Foundation Bushfire Appeal.

Gates will open at the Manjimup Heritage Park from 5pm and the Table for Two Trio will begin playing at the Sandra Donovan Soundshell from 5.30pm.
