The Boyup Brook Art Awards held its opening night last Wednesday, attracting a crowd of 100 people for the 11th exhibition.

More than 200 pieces were submitted and awards were presented in eight categories, with the winners being decided by Sharon Tassicker, former exhibitions manager at the Holmes a Court Gallery.

“I was really, really happy to see that the majority of the artists who entered the exhibition were all South West artists, so they were from all around the area,” she said.

The overall open prize was taken out by Vanessa Wardle for her piece No. 1.
