Heavy fog blankets Sydney causing flight and ferry cancellations
Sydneysiders woke to a thick blanket of fog resting over the city which also stretched to the Hawkesbury and Hills District and South Western suburbs.
The cloud of fog set in around 4am and while some parts of the CBD have begun to emerge from its haze, there are multiple sites in Greater Sydney where the fog is not expected to lift for hours.
The fog has caused major visibility issues on the city’s roads prompting the Bureau of Meteorology to warn of dangerous road conditions throughout Friday morning.
