It has not been an ideal year for Bunbury champion Jesse Gribble, who has spent extended time on the sidelines getting his body right.

A ball magnet who loves hitting the scoreboard for his beloved Bulldogs, Gribble returned to the field on Saturday at Brunswick Oval, on the back of a wave of support from family, friends and teammates.

This unwavering faith in the champion paid off, with Gribble booting four goals in Bunbury’s 11.10 (76) to 5.3 (33) win over Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault.

On a day where the Lions celebrated Brayden Prentice’s 150th game, the home side began brightly, with stoppages becoming the norm in general play.

With Lions ruckman Jack Fletcher having a brilliant game in the corridor, the home side had no shortage of opportunities to generate scoreboard pressure, however a number of their forward entries were far too shallow.
