WA had no new COVID cases today but there is cause for concern in Geraldton.

Around 50 patients and staff at Geraldton Regional Hospital are being treated as “casual contacts” of a COVID positive seafarer from the MV Emerald Indah treated at the facility after authorities identified a potential breach of protocols.

NSW extended Sydney’s lockdown by a week after recording 27 new cases.

Unfortunately for the five million people in Sydney and surrounds, lockdown will be extended by a week to midnight July 16 to try to bring the virus under control.

The numbers as they stand today: WA had no new cases, NSW reported 27 new infections, Victoria recorded no new cases, Queensland had one locally acquired case, the Northern Territory has had no new cases since Friday, Tasmania has no active cases, the ACT has no active cases and South Australia yesterday reported no new cases.
