Big win for Albany’s Attwell Park Speedway after earning right to host 2022-23 National Modified Sedan Title

Albany Speedway Club has had a major win, earning the right to host the 2022-23 National Modified Sedan Title.

Speedway Sedans Australia announced on Monday the dates and venues for the five national classes in the 2022-23 calendar.

Albany’s Attwell Park Speedway will be one of three WA venues to host a national title in 2022-23, with Bunbury and Ellenbrook also successful in their bids.

The next National Modified Sedan Title will be held in Albany on April 7-9 in 2023.

Scrutineering and practice will take place on Friday, April 7 before heat racing on Saturday, April 8.

The remaining heats and finals will be run on Sunday, April 9 and the official rainout date is Monday, April 10.

It will be the sixth time that Albany has hosted this event, the most recent back in 2013-14.

Mark Carlin from Victoria won that edition of the national title.

The National Modified Sedan Title has been cancelled in the past two seasons due to COVID.

Victorian Kye Walters is the current national champion after his win in Kingaroy in 2018-19.

Bunbury will host the National Street Stock Title on March 3-5 in 2023 while the National Production Sedan Title will be contested at Ellenbrook on April 14-16, 2023.

Borderline Speedway in South Australia is the venue for the National Junior Sedan Title on January 5-7 in 2023 while Gympie Speedway in Queensland will host the National Super Sedan Title from April 28-30 next year.
