VideoPolice officers were investigating in Midvale this morning as ball bearings were fired at a gym and an auto repairs store.

Forensic detectives and a ballistics expert were called to the scene of a ‘drive by shooting’ at a Midvale gym today, only to discover the building was not sprayed with bullets but ball bearings.

The shots were fired just before 5am, with such force windows were shattered.

A gym-goer was inside the building at the time and called Triple 0.

Gym owner Navar Poole said he was told the weapon used may have been some sort of sling shot or home made gun.

He said it was a mystery as to why the business was targeted.

“We have no issues with anyone, you know we are very friendly and we have great members,” he said.

A nearby gym and auto part store were also targeted.

A suspicious car was captured on CCTV driving slowly through the area early this morning.

Police say the people found responsible for the damage could face a hefty fine or even spend time in jail.
