“Now that Christmas is behind us, bring on Easter. Speaking of which, Woolies are launching Hot Cross Buns with Caramilk chips!!!Found this in the next catalogue starting Wednesday!!!” one Facebook user wrote in the Caramilk Addicts Club.

“Omg really?” one person asked. “Yumm yes please!” said another.

“Already for sale at some stores,” one shopper revealed.

It comes as Woolworths launched its hot cross bun range on Tuesday that include fruitless, fruit and Cadbury milk chocolate fillings.

There is also the apple and cinnamon hot cross bun that has returned from last year.

A four pack will set you back just $3.50 and is made with 100 per cent Australian sourced Pink Lady apples.

Customers looking for a gluten free alternative can also get their hands on hot cross buns, as well as the hot cross fruit loaf that was also sold last year.

Woolworths bakery commercial director Jason McQuaid said the Caramilk collaboration was “arguably the most exciting flavour yet”.

“Hot cross buns are incredibly popular this time of year,” he said.

“Last year, we sold more than two million individual hot cross buns the first week they were on sale, so we’re thrilled to help Aussies end another challenging year with a delicious treat.”

Joanne Raven from Cadbury Australia said the company was “thrilled” to partner with Woolworths to deliver the Australian-first flavour.

“Perhaps one of our most iconic flavours to date, it’s no surprise that Aussies love Cadbury Caramilk, and what better way to close off 2021 and celebrate Easter than with the launch of this new decadent bun,” she said.
