Perth pop rockers End of Fashion will replace Dan Sultan in Perth Festival closing event Highway to Hell.

Sultan was due to perform the headline slot with the Perth Symphony Orchestra on the massive outdoor stage at Tompkins Park in Melville on Sunday.

However the ARIA Award-winning rocker pulled the appearance following revelations he has been charged over an alleged indecent assault understood to have occurred in Melbourne in 2008.

Led by singer and songwriter Justin Burford, End of Fashion will fill the final slot on the Tompkins Park stage but without the PSO.

The Fashies became one of the hottest bands in the country in 2005 when their self-titled debut album climbed to No. 3 on the ARIA album charts and achieved gold accreditation.

After two albums released to far less fanfare, the group disbanded around 2012.

End of Fashion returned last year for shows around Perth and have begun work on a new album, due out later this year.

Burford is joined in the new-look line-up by musicians boasting history with the Sleepy Jackson, Birds of Tokyo and Southern River Band.
